When people hear we offer notary services at our auto parts store, the first reaction is usually,

“Wait…what?”

It does sound a little unusual—auto parts and notarized documents aren’t exactly what you’d expect to find under the same roof. But hear me out.

We’ve always been known as the go-to shop for hard-to-find import car parts here in Stockton, CA. That reputation got me thinking: if customers rely on us to track down rare parts, why not also provide another hard-to-find service—a convenient, reliable notary?

🖋️ Why We Added Notary Services

Whenever I personally needed a notary, it was a real challenge.

Banks? The notary was out to lunch or in a meeting.

Shipping stores? Only available certain hours or certain days.

Sure, mobile notaries are another option, and they can be great for people who need on-site help. But I wanted to offer something a little different — a place where customers could drop in anytime, get documents notarized on the spot, and not worry about scheduling or extra travel fees.

Since I’m always at the parts store, it made perfect sense to become a notary myself. Now, our customers can simply walk in—no appointment needed—and get their documents notarized while picking up parts. Easy peasy.

💡 A Service Inspired by Curiosity

I’ve always been intrigued by what a notary does — the responsibility, the trust, and the precision involved. In the winter of 2020, right in the middle of pandemic lockdowns, I found myself with more downtime than usual. It was the Christmas holiday season, and between quarantines and slower business days, I wanted to make good use of that extra time.

That’s when I decided to take the plunge and become a notary. I dove into the training through the National Notary Association — a fantastic experience that taught me everything from notarial law to real-world scenarios. In March 2021, I officially received my commission, and launched my notary business, Precision 21 Notary.

Now, several years later and into my second commission, I can confidently say it was one of the best professional decisions I’ve made. Not only did it satisfy a longtime curiosity, but it also gave me another way to serve our community right here at the shop.

It's incredibly rewarding to offer a service people genuinely need—especially when it saves them time and stress.

🚗 Convenience, Stockton-Style

We’re right here in Stockton, CA, readily accessible from Interstate 5 or Highway 99. Global Auto Parts is easy to find at the southwest corner of Thornton Rd. and Hammer Lane. Whether you need an OE-quality part or a quick notary stamp, you can count on us for both.

You'll get friendly service, reliability, and the satisfaction of supporting a local small business that cares about its community.

💬 Fun Reactions from Our Customers

One of my favorite parts of offering notary services here at the parts store has been seeing customers’ reactions. Our regulars — who usually come in for hard-to-find import parts — often do a double take when they see the notary sign on the counter. After the surprise wears off, they’re usually thrilled to know they can take care of paperwork here next time they need it.

On the flip side, most of our notary business actually comes from folks who find us online while searching for a local notary. When they walk in and realize they’re surrounded by oil filters, drive belts, and AMSOIL synthetic lubricants, it always sparks a laugh — and more than a few have said, “I didn’t expect this, but I love it!” Some even end up becoming new auto parts customers, which makes it a win-win for everyone.

🐾 Cat-Approved Service

And yes—our shop cats are almost always on duty, supervising the notary counter (and occasionally napping on it). Because even notarized documents deserve a little feline approval.
