Ten years. It’s hard to believe, but it’s been that long since our website has gotten a makeover. We launched our first website in 2007, the same time we revealed a new company logo, as seen above. Sure, we updated our web content over the years. But it sported the same old layout for an entire decade. Even I was getting sick and tired of looking at the same old Global Auto Parts website. Needless to say, it was time for a change. For kicks, below is a screenshot of our homepage of yesteryear.
With over 50% of people going online via mobile device these days (are you?), it made sense to create a responsive, mobile-friendly website. A fresh website with a simple yet functional responsive design was our goal. It was fantastic to discover that DIY web design could be such a breeze with content management systems such as WordPress. And the Zerif theme by ThemeIsle was perfect for our needs. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be possible to create and manage our own website without knowing jack-squat about HTML, PHP, or CSS coding. It was just a matter of customizing the theme with our own content and images. And the outcome was amazing.
At last, we’re thrilled to launch our newly redesigned website! It’s a work in progress, so please feel free to share any comments. If you see something that doesn’t look quite right, give us a holler. You might notice that our website is mainly an informational site describing our retail operation — and you are correct. Our core business remains focused on serving the local community of Stockton and neighboring cities. However, we do sell a number of parts and products globally through our eBay store. Stay tuned for more updates as time goes on. Thanks a million for stopping by to visit our site today!
